The LPL Prepares For Summer Playoffs

China - August 6th, 2020 - The end is in sight for the LPL Summer Split. As week 10 draws to a close, teams now face the regional gauntlet for qualifiers. There’s only four places available for the World Championships in China, so all eyes are on the top 8 spots and who’ll secure them. As always, we’ve rounded up all the key news, so you don’t have to!

  • Lilia made her debut! Played by Weiwei of V5, Leyan of Vici Gaming and Xiaopeng of Dominus Esports. Despite some early potency, she failed to live up to expectations, finishing with three losses under her belt. While there’s no doubt she has potential, it’s most likely that teams simply need more time with her kit to get value from her. Watch this space. 
  • Victory 5 have continued to impress, and despite a track record that’s less than stellar, they’ve found form at the right time. Currently sat in 4th for the Summer Standings they’ve taken the scalp of top teams such as Top ESports and JD Gaming - a remarkable run. 
  • Here’s the Summer Playoff Schedule. Officially revealed on Twitter, it tells you exactly what you need to know, with the winner crowned at the end of August. Get it in your diary.
